Ms. Brittany Banks has been the Assistant Inspector General for Follow Up since 2022. She has a diverse background that spans over 11 years of conducting international audits and evaluations, quality assurance reviews, single audits reviews, and audit training. Brittany previously served at the AmeriCorps OIG as an Audit Manager responsible for leading performance audits, providing oversight for contracted audits, facilitating agency outreach, and creating audit policies and procedures. Before AmeriCorps, Brittany served with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and USAID OIG, where she developed and updated the agency’s financial management and accounting policies, provided technical advice for enterprise risk management initiatives, and led the standup of the OIG’s Quality Assurance and Review Division. She leads the Council of Inspectors General for Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) Connect, Collaborate, and Learn series and is an operational officer for the CIGIE Quality Assurance Working Group (QAWG). Brittany holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of West Georgia and a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Alabama. She is from Birmingham, Alabama, and now lives in Baltimore, Maryland. She enjoys traveling, playing with her pup, and playing Alabama football in her off time.
